Apple launches the iPad Air! The iPad has come a long way in a very small amount of time and its next generation build has just been launched. The original iPad was launched only a mere three years ago in 2010 and since then the device has ‘changed the world’ and gone through a few changes and is now on its fifth variation with the Air. Earlier this week Apple announced a handful of new computers and two new tablets, the iPad Mini with Retina display and the iPad Air. After a year’s worth of rumors and speculation the iPad set to take tablets into 2014 has arrived.
The new iPad Air brings a new name to the iPad line up and disregards the numbered nomenclature. While the name, iPad Air has a nice ring to it, the big question is what do you call the second generation iPad Air? At the end of the day however it really does not matter what you name this next generation tablet as its premium build and stacked spec sheet mostly speaks for itself. The iPad Air starts with the same 9.7 inch retina display that was used on the last iteration of the iPad. Using an IPS LCD touch screen the display offers up a 2048×1536 pixel resolution at 264 pixels per inch. The build of the new iPad Air is the update that justifies the Air name. The previous generation iPad measured in at 9.4 mm thick while the new iPad Air shaves that size down and measures in at a mere 7.5mm! Internally the iPad Air comes with a 64-bit Apple A7 system chip that uses a dual core 1.3 GHz processor to get stuff done! Around back the iPad Air houses the same 5 mega pixel camera while up front we find a 1.2 mega pixel sensor. Additionally, we’ll find the likes of GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and lightning USB for connectivity purposes. Any takers?
